PIC REQUEST: Slotted/X-Drilled Rotors
considering getting cross drilled rotors, and i would like to see how it looks on your 7.
Could you also please state where you got the rotors (ebay, store , etc.)
Also, your opinon on this new type of rotor:

My opinion would be that there isn't anything "new" about 'em.
Radial drill patterns and slots have been around for years and painting the hats is equally as common.
Since you can get perfectly functional whitebox rotors at NAPA for @$25 apiece
(probably higher in the "Canadian" arctic) the extra $235 for what is essentially bling is up to you to justify.
Also, if you've never driven with drilled rotors before be aware that they tend to make a "whirr" noise upon initial/trail braking- nothing to worry about but weird if you're not expecting it.

id prefer the 2pc CD&S design. Normally these are going to be plenty lighter compaired to OEM or Blanks. But they are also subject to vibrations and vibrations can cause really bad unequal pad wear. So to dampen the vibrations during clamping force a dampening hat is used in the 2pc rotor. Unfortunatly most 2pc design rotors are for big brake kits.
If you want the most stopping power go for some OEM or Brembo Blanks and a good set of pads.
