New Guy New Rex and Of course good problems

First and Foremost hello to everyone. I've been on this website for afew years now. My old login wouldn't work when i got home from deployment. So same name as before with a few numbers tacked on. Mainly before i was in the 1rst gen section. Had an 85 gsl-se that i had to give away. Then bought a 88 and some bastard decided to pull out infront of me and bend up my front end. So this is try number three for me 87 gxl. Will work on getting some pics up for ya. So i bought this lovely car knowing that there was a knock under it coming from the rear end. The previous owner insisted that it was the u-joints. LMAO Hopefully the pic uploaded if not i will host them else were for ya. Anyone ever seen a U-Joint like this before. Did i mention the front Diff mount is toasted too. So I really don't want to but looks like mazdatrix is going to be getting allot of my business. Either way this is sure to be fun. Wish me luck on my third Rex.

u joints cannot be replaced on the stock driveshaft. You need a new driveshaft, be it an aftermarket with replacable u-joints, or another OEM unit.

Yep I bought a new drive shaft from Trix and am waiting on the front Dif Mount. After that it should be street able. Just have to find some misc. Interior pieces.

Well I finally Got my Diff mount in from Trix on Tuesday. I installed it last night. Took a little longer than i had expected. But i did not drop the Diff or the cross member. I loosened everything up like i was going to drop the cross member. I removed the 2 bolts to the cross-diff mount with a long extension. Then used those nuts to pull the studs out of the Diff mount. This gave me just enough room to slid the new mount in place and button everything up. Over all not that bad of a project just took some beer and bruised knuckles. Now im going to tighten up the suspension. So she should be road worthy.
