Pic request: coolant temp sensor location

I know this sounds silly but I need to install my new Greddy electronic temp gauge and I'm not sure of the stock sensor location, I know it's behind the engine and I think I found it but a pic or at least a very detailed description would be nice to confirm I got the right one. Also I'd like to know if using the stock sensor location is a good idea to start with, the stock gauge is crappy (S5) but is it the gauge itself or does it have to do with the sensor location? I'm looking for the best way to install the new one and I dont mind drilling and tapping if I need to.

Most aftermaket temp sensors are too big to replace the stock you, but here it is so you can check...

The S5's stock gauge only has three positions. This is a function of the gauge, not the sensor.
