LOL, I knew I should have shut the garage door

I had an incident at Sears Point with the TA, trailing throttle oversteer going into turn 8, back end stepped waaaaaay out, caught it, but didn't get back on the gas fast enough and skidded into the embankment.. Hit with the nose, spun up the embankment, cracking the fender, ground effects, and scraping the hell out of the rear bumper cover, bent two wheels and blew 3 tires.

Anyway, that's what it looks like without a bumper cover or rear tail lights No damage there, just a scratched bumper cover.

Sweet ***!

Is it still considered rice if the sponsors really sponsor you?

Hey, call it rice if you want.. I tell my F-body friends that I'm secretly a riceboy at heart, just that my RX-7 let's me express it I figure it's justified, it IS a race car, not some poser.

Thanks for the complements, now I've just gotta go get the decals made..

no rearview mirror? Isn't it nice to be able to see behind you while racing?

That's what fenders are for!

Seriously, no, it's not quite finished yet. Gotta put the dash back in, hook up the brakes, and finish the radiator mount, as well as put mirrors on

Yo,

Cool, is it NA or Turbo? What class/series do you run? Good job!

Yeah Silk, I've been meaning to pick you brain about what mod's are done to it, as I'm currently thinking about a setup for a similar track car. What mods do you have done? Whats the story on the motor?

Let's see..

Engine:
Stock rebuilt '89 13B, no internal mods allowed (or done)
88 ECU, injectors, wiring harness, TB (with TB mod), AFM, and CAS..
89 fuel rail, Upper/lower intake, OMP (not hooked up)
RB header
SS oil cooler lines
Oil temp/press adapter block
Mazdatrix short shifter, underdrive pulley and alternator dual pulley
All smog equipment removed, ACV blocked
PS removed, AC removed, airpump removed
K&N filter (thinking of heat shields, that's a project for after the car is running)
Griffin Radiator, stock oil cooler (we'll see how that holds up)

Drivetrain
New engine/trans/diff mounts
Rebuilt 86 trans
new clutch/brake Master and slave cylinders
Stock Mazda clutch (no 5K RPM dumps for me)

Suspension
Delrin bushings front/rear (including toe elim. bushing)
Koni single adjustable shocks
Mazdacomp Coilover kit
Eibach Springs (400F/275R)
Eibach swaybars
Mazdacomp Camber/caster plates and rear camber link
New front wheel bearings

Safety gear/Misc
Kirkey Intermediate seat w/custom rear seat brace
custom fully welded 8pt cage 1.75"x.120, gusset'd on drivers side, gutted drivers door with NASCAR style door bar
quick disconnect steering wheel hub
Momo 320 or 350mm steering wheel (I forget which)
All interior pieces legally removable, have been removed. Sunroof has been riveted on
Teamtech window net

Planned Mods
Engine: not a hell of a lot. Battery needed, but that's about it
Drivetrain: new drive shaft, 4:88 rear gears, new bearings in rear hubs, hardened long wheel studs, SS brake lines, rebuilt 4/1 piston calipers, new rotors, Torsen LSD
Suspension: Toyo Proxes RA-1s, Kosei K-1 15x7 wheels
Safety/Misc: 5lb Halon Firebottle, Wilwood brake proportioning valve (with custom hardlines), 5pt harnesses, electrical cut off switch

Class the car is built for is ProSedan 1, which is NASA's version of the Improved Touring S class in SCCA, except for spec tires (the Toyo Proxes RA-1s).

Anyway, there you go.. ****, it's been a lot of work
