Pic of the FCD I make mounted in Car

Here is a pic of the FCD's that I make mounted on the rear airbox bracket beside the Pressure Sensor bracket.

This position works great, but, of course, you have to have removed your airbox First, DUH!!!!

the original link discussing the FCD is here

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ight=cheap+fcd

Note: As of Yet, I have not found connectors to match the pligs on the pressure sensor, therefore, the FCD's are still either soldered or splice crimped to the wiring harnes. The plug on mine is used to test the FCD's before i ship 'em out, it doesn't match the stock one...

If anybody can tell me where to buy the stock type plugs.. i'll give 'em a free FCD with the plug and play arangement!!!

these are 30 bucks shipped

UPDATING KIT 2 Plug and Play version

I think I have found the right connectors to make the kits "Plug and Play" just like the factory versions!!! They'll be here next week, I'll update!!

Also, I am about to run off a batch of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's) so that the units are a bit easier to build and the final unit is a much more professional job... the boxes are going to be getting smaller as well and the "Creeping Death Engineering" logo will eventually be painted on.

Best news... If everything goes well, the new (series 3) kits will only be 32 bucks.. shipped!!!!!

I have two of the current FCD kits left, 30 bucks shipped!!

Rotor on my wayward son!!!!

Awesome work man! Its nice to see people helping out the community. But I got one question. Are these for s4s, s5s, or do you make em for both series?

Let me know what you can come up with for us series 5 guys and I'll buy one. I know you need an external 12v source, but is everything else the same?

The S5's still use the same fuel cut level from the signla recieved from the boost sensor, therefore, this design will work, I just need an S5 TII to look at to adapt / modify the wiring in the kit to fit. IF anyone lives near York, PA and has an s5 TII, I'll give 'em an FCD, on the premise that you let me monkey around under the hood to get the wiring configuration right for the S5 FCD's.

I will be out of the area from the 8th to the 12th of september, sorry no FCD's shipped during that time. HOWEVER, when i get back, the kit is being redesigned to include a smaller enclosure, a purpose designed PCB board that I'll be manufacturing, and the last few kits that I have sent out have already been updated to plug and play design. The FCD's now come with male and female spade connectors so that you just plug 'em in between the Boost sensor and the wiring harness. The connectors that go under the boost sensor are the insulated type, so there is no danger of short or signal crossover! I've got this setup on my car now as well, and its been working GREAT! (even with unplugging it all the time to test the fcd's I ship out) As soon as i get the first lot made, I'll post pics of the new design on my website.

As for the factory style plugs.. I've contactes Sumitomo to see if they are available, this is my last try at getting them. I do know that the aftermarket FCD's from at least one of the big manufacturers use connectors purpose built, (actually molded) by job shops for the complanies... I haven't got that kind of cash because they require a large investment for the tooling and design and then a large order to make it cost effective!!

Here are some pics of the current design.. the top pic on the page is the prototype i have in my car... still running after a year of abuse. Smaller boxes (about 50% )will be included in the next run, will update website with new pics when i get the next round finished. Most likely next week.

Here are the pics of the NEW design, printed Circuit board, 50% small box (its almost tiny) and plug and play!!! http://mysite.verizon.net/res1f3en/id5.html

These upgrades will bring the FCD's up to the qaulity of the big boys... the only thing missing would be the factory style connectors and I simply don't have the cash to have them custom made (which is what THEY do) and why their FCD's are 95 to 115 bucks!!!

I'll even replace it within 3 months if you fry it (I say YOU because these things are bulletproof if installed correctly).

The NEW models are still 30 bucks... shipped!

The s5 versions are available in two designs..

one has a DC to DC converter installed inside the box, they are 38.5 bucks because the damn dc to dc converter costs 8.50, however, the upside is that its completely plug and play, no power wires to run...

The other option is 30 bucks, but it comes with a red wire seperate from the wiring harness that you must connect to a 12v source controlled by the ignition switch under the hood.

Since most people want to save the cash and just get the 30 dollar model and run a power wire, I have then ready to go. You have to gimme notice for the others cause I only keep one or two of the converters on hand.

Thanks SureShot.....

A lot of guys have been asking me about just getting the PCB boards, or all the parts and putting it together themselves... No problem!!!!!!!!!!!

here's the deal,,,, If you only get one thing... GET THE PCB, it's predrilled and will make your life MUCH easier when trying to put an FCD together..

Also, if you buy your own parts, i HIGHLY suggest using an 8-Pin DIP socket for the OP-AMP... that way, you can solder the socket on the board and put the OP-Amp in it later, thus not subjecting the OP-AMP to the heat of soldering.

the PCB's alone are $10 bucks, shipped (with a picture of a completed FCD so that you can see how the parts go in the board!!!.
All the parts (except the wire) $22.50, shipped.
yes that's right, I'm only getting about 7.50 a piece to build these things if you figure that they are $30 bucks shipped as a complete unit!!
