performance plugs and wires

Hi there,
I’ve got a 1986 rx7 (FC) and I am wondering if any other owners have noticed an appreciable difference in engine performance, in terms of efficiency, with higher performance plugs and wires. I am rather cheap, and would like to know in advance if they will do as well for my car’s cleaner fuel burning performance as I think they will.

just run the typical plugs, they work great. NGK seems to be the popular brand for them. better wires can't hurt, but for ignition the best upgrade is probably going to be a CDI box. it will help some in the fuel economy and a smidge in the performance department, and will let you run a set of plugs longer with fewer negatives regularly associated with worn plugs.
