Perfect idle forever
After tinkering with the 86 NA for a bit I got it idling better then anything else I own.
Who knew the proper amount of spark, fuel and air was important to that?
also now I smell less like someone was pouring gasoline on me after letting it idle for a while.
This thread has no point except to share that I am pleased.

I adjusted the idle speed screw until it had a nice strong idle, then i adjusted the idle AF screw until it was steady, then went back to the idle screw to get it down to about 750 RPMs.. playing with the AF screw each time to get it as steady as I could.
there is a lot of info on it out there, but if anyone has a similar problem I can help.
previously I had made sure I was getting good spark.

That's a fair question. I am in California and the coldest it gets around here is low 40s at night in winter.
Normally she'd rev up to 3k when cold and hold it until it warmed up, the idle would drop down and bounce between 500 and 1000. Or if anything else was wrong at all it would die instead of idle.
Now the car revs up to warm up and sinks down to nice even 725-775 ish. But this was at like 85 degrees.

Its always a good feeling when your car is idling just so, my 7 idles fantastic after warming up. Only issue I've got is it smokes for tops a minute on cold start up. Won't do so again for the rest of the day so long as I've driven 15 minutes or so. I think its the omp starting to go, it was planning on pulling it out anyways and getting the rtek ecu. Either way props on the tune up!
