My neighbor has a silver 87 TII with 122k on it and has had no luck selling it for 4k and it's really clean and straight with no mods except for a boost controller. My red GTU has 78k on it -totally stock, new yoko tires but no bites on my ad @ 3k.

the 4k for the 87 TII with 122k miles doesn't suprise me because of the mileage mine has 15k on a new engine though.

First rule when selling a car.

"An ounce of shine is worth a pound of performance."

I'm talking clean, stock looking, & shinny inside & out.

If there are mods, they must be installed cleanly & finished to look professional.

EG: my red NA $2500 sold.

RX-7s can be kind of user-unfriendly. Unlike, say, a Honda, you need to be knowledgeable about their quirks in order to own them (e.g., flooding if you don't get up to operating temp before shutting off, must monitor oil consumption every week, etc.). Even then you have to deal with substandard gas mileage and frequent electrical problems.

I've loved my '90 na for 8 years and 105,000 miles, but I couldn't recommend buying one to too many people.

Hey - If a buyer has the cash - it's sold.
If they are listening, I will warn them about oil changes and how they must learn to handle the DTSS.

If it shows up in a local salvage yard.. Mmm parts..

No pun intended I fall into some of these catagories as well
I don't believe this is true. Just because they come and look at it then don't call again doesn't mean there "cheap and have bigger eyes than wallet". Maybe they just didn't like the car or saw it had something wrong with it. I looked at probably 10+ RX-7's before i bought my 1st one that i really liked.
No pun intented here either but i just don't think thats fair what you are saying.
