PD raplacement.. can you do it without rippin everything apart??

PD raplacement.. can you do it without rippin everything apart??
i replaced my PD and here the replacement was bogus so i got to do it again.. well can i do it with out tearing the motor apart again or do i have to.. i heard you can do it by pullin off the alt.. but i cannot see how thanks
