PD hisses like a snake

Anyone ever notice this before. I had two PD's when I swapped engines on my 86. When I had the first one on it hissed like an air leak, no fuel leak though. I replaced it with the other one, now it is leaking fuel. So, I put the other one back on, and again, it hisses like an air leak. I am assuming this is from the fuel entering/exiting the damper all the time.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this, and if the PD is ok.

Thanks,
hanman

I would assume you need to get a new PD before you drive the car again. PD failure = FIRE!!!

I don't think it's the PD you're hearing - it sounds more like the FPR to me.

If the fuel injectors are not firing, you should hear nothing from the PD.

Rico, the PD is NOT leaking.

Ted, I believe that it has to be the PD because it did not hiss before with the old PD on.
Same regulator, new PD. Hisses with the new PD but not the old one. Go figure?
