Passing smog without ACV/Airpump?

Read before flaming

In an ongoing effort to clean up the engine bay, I wanna gut all the emissions equipment. However, the car still must pass smog testing... So there's always the Corvette electric smog pump available (and swapping the cat once every 2 years) ... just wondering if I get rid of all the emissions, and plumb the electric airpump to the cat every few years for the half hour... would I pass? Would it be worse or better than stock numbers?

Thanks
-Ross

what he said

If you pipe air directly to the cat from the airpump it does pretty much the same thing as the old ACV / airpump setup

Oops, forgot to mention that you don't want to go about 4000 RPM since it will shorten the life of the cat (usually the ACV dumps the air out at about 3800 RPM).

If anything, no ACV will result in cleaner emissions from your tailpipe. Junk all emissions, and when the time comes run a lt1/ls1 elec. air pump or put back on the stocker and run a hose to the stock cat.

I highly doubt the cat's life will be signifcantly affected, especially if it's only on for 30 minutes every 2 years.
