How can i take out the passing port window covers where the passing lights are? I'm not sure how my car would look like after i take them out but they're pretty ugly as it is. I tried reaching behind the headlights in the up position but couldn't get to them. A friend of mine suggested taking a hammer, breaking them from the outside, and then tear out what would remain of the lenses....but thats kinda eh...

 

Why do you want to remove them?

 

they are probably aged and crappy looking. the only way to remove them is from the back with the lights up.

 

oh it is a 10mm deepwell socket and they usually break the stud out of the lens so once you take them out there is no going back

 

i think my 7 would look a lot better with them gone. but i'll try 10mm deepwells when i get to my friend's shop.

 

the FTP's lights?
take some 1000, 1500, 2000 then plastic polish to them.

 

It won't, it'll look like something's fallen off the front of your car...

Raise the headlights, pull the RETRACTOR fuse (safety first), remove the plastic trim around the headlight and reach in with a 10mm socket. I've never actually needed to use a deep socket for this.

There are lots of threads about restoring the lenses to as-new condition.

 

I thought I used an 8mm socket when I took mine out recently. Not that difficult to remove using a small 3/8" socket wrench and socket.

 

Yeah you're right, they're little 8mm nuts.

 

polishing the FTP lens is a good option, i went to the junk yard and took them off to polish (hoping to sell them out) but then i got lazy and they've been laying around.....

but prepare for the stud to break.... 9/10 of them will.....

if u don't have a 8 deep socket, u can use a 8 wrench, but its a tight squeeze.....
