passenger water leak (searched)

Ok I have a leak under my dash on the passenger side. I searched and found that cleaning that drain hose that goes through the firewall helps. Well I took it off and it was very clean no clog. The leak is right on top of the ecu. If you look under there in the middle of all the plastic there is a rectangle bar going across. Sorry I dont know how else to explain it. Anyway there is water leaking from that. I pushed on it and water mixed with dirt oozed from the sides of it. Is it a heater seal or the evaporator thing or what? Thanks

O by the way I dont drive my car I am fixing it up right now. After being in the rain all day I pulled it in the garage and the carpet was wet. Also I dont have an a/c I took it out. It did not work so I pulled it and then the car went out side. Could this be the problem? Thanks

Heater core is at least 12" to the left of the area he's describing the leak dripping from, though...Plus there would be the obvious smell....

Sorry to bump an old thread, but my issue is similar.
Basically...During rain water comes in from behind the ecu and runs behind the wires in the door trim. Which completely soaks the passenger side of the car (RHD car).
I am assuming that this is not a leaking windscreen as it seems to be coming through the wing? However I am not 100% on this. The plastic bowl like thing behind the ecu gets full of water.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
