Passenger Door Auto Lock

hey, i have a 10AE and i have a problem.... i didn't realize it for a while, but i used to have auto locks where when i lock the driver's side door, the passenger side locks too, but it doesn't do it anymore.

i'm guessing more than likely it's going to be like my window switch where the connections get really dirty, but i wanted to get info on the most common problems for it, i.e. fuses, bad connections or if the auto locking thing was just a figment of my imagination

oh, and by the way, i did search my posts would be twice as much had i not used it and just posted right away, i just can't figure out the correct combination of words to get what i need on this one.... it's like a puzzle

There's an autolock on my '90 so it's not necessarily your imagination. Just take the door panel off and open things up. Might just need a good cleaning if it's stuck, check connections, maybe a small amount of grease to keep it freed up? I don't think it has it's own fuse anywhere, but it may have something to do with the factory alarms. I'm not familiar with the standard items on the anniv ed. though, just going by what mine has. Shouldn't be too difficult to find the problem. Keep us posted on what you find.

The factory alarm doesn't affect it. Its a slave system similar to most jap cars of the time. Theres a door lock actuator in the passenger door. You may want to check the wiring, or the contacts in the driver door. It makes an electrical connection somewhere in the driver's door to signal the passenger actuator to lock.
