parts car or swap the motor?
a friend has an 87 gxl for sale for $200, the bad... it's auto, it has a blown motor (apex seals) and the sunroof has minor rust... the rest of the car fairly good looking, there are a few dents here and there but nothing that coulding be fixed or overlooked... it's got the 5 lug wheels and all that sweet jaz and it's got the 2+2 rear seat (needed as i'm going to be a dad in the coming months)
i'm seriously looking at picking it up from him... if nothing i know i could make some $$$ from parting the thing out or if $$$ permits i could swap the motor in w/ the intent of restoring it.
so any imput? how much does a rebuild kit for a roto cost? (obviously assuming the motor can be rebuilt)... what can i pick up a still relativly good used one for? how dificult would the swap be (stright NA to NA)?
thanks

You won't make a ton of money off of the car, but you certainly would turn a profit if you bought it for $200. Perhaps you could buy a wrecked RX-7 with a good engine and a 5-speed and you could transfer the good engine and tranny over to the dead car. It's worth thinking about and you'd keep an RX-7 on the road.
