What is this?
Along with the rebuild, I'm removing unnecessary emissions equipment, as most of it was barely usable anyway, and this is a budget build.

I'm confident the car can run without it, my GXL has been doing fine without it for a couple of years now.

I would just like to know what it is called, I can research it further on my own, just looking for a name.

Looks like the ABSV (Air Bypass Solenoid Valve) that's used to open an additional air port into the intake when running the A/C and/or power steering.

Ah, I thought that was what the BAC (Above and left in the pic) was for.
Do these components work together then? I unfortunately cannot use my gxl for reference, no BAC.

Found my answer
----------------
Air Bypass Solenoid Valve
During warmup, covering coolant temperatures above 59F and below 98.6F, the air bypass solenoid valve helps increase air flow beyond what the BAC can do by itself, raising idle to 3,000rpm for the first 17 seconds of cold operation; this the Accelerated-Warmup System (AWS). Below 59F the 17-second idle increase is disabled due to high oil viscosity.
---------------------------

Think I'm just gonna ditch it, from what I understand BAC is sufficient in compensating for AC and PS drain, and emissions won't be an issue in KS.
