Parking light/headlight switch issues

Okay, when I bought my car it had a few electrical gremlins. Big suprise. Anyway, one of those gremlins was that my parking lights were on a different switch, an aftermarket one installed under the dash. The factory swich, doesn't light up and will only turn on the headlights. The guy I bought it from said it had something to do with the indiglo guages he installed. Well, I removed those, and am trying to get everything back to stock. The only problems I've found is that the connector going into the headlight switch thing has two wires not connected. One is a White wire with a green stipe the other is a red wire with a black stripe. I don't have a digital camera so here is a ghetto "recreation" This is if your looking at the connector in the dash as it would be plugged into the back of the switch.

The two / represent the two that aren't connected. I figure just hooking them back up should solve the trick, but I don't like blindly hooking up wires. So, any help/suggestions is appreciated.

If you've got matching ends I don't see the problem.

That's the problem, they were pulled out of the harness, not cut. I'm going to have to pull out the pins and put the wires back in.

The white/green wire comes from your 15A "illum" fuse, and is the reason the switch light doesn't work. It also powers the tail lights, through the red/black, once it goes through the switch contacts. See any connection here? The PO must have found another power source for the aftermarket switch, because the headlight switch was toast (my theory), and he didn't want to spend the bucks for a new one...
