My camera sucks. It's one of the tiny $40 ones.
Gloss black paint. They are really glossy right now (too glossy for the dirty car).
When I wash it next, I'll get some good pics with a better camera, hopefully.

Looks good man, bad pic quality but it still looks good. I like how you kept the lip there, I've always wanted to know what it'd look like with that. I don't really have any plans anymore on upsizing my wheels since the 15's are perfect anyway (gearing, weight, handling, etc.) so I've been thinking of doing this. What kinda paint did you use, and how did you prep the wheels before you painted them?

I was going to paint the steelies off my Corolla last weekend, they actually have wheel paint. The crap I got is from Dupli-Coat and its called High Performance Wheel Coating. Oh and its track tested. I got a cool Graphite color. Eventually I will powdercoat either a set of the S4 rims or the S5 rims. Lates Matt22

I used engine enamel (the wheel coating does not come in black). http://www.duplicolor.com/products/engine.html
I hope it holds up.
To prep the surface, I washed the wheels, sanded them with 150 grit, and washed again.
Masking was tedious.

wow, that does look good, but if i were to do it (sorry for the critic) but i'd choose a lighter color, maybe dark silver/gunmetal color. with a nice polished lip. how long did each masking job take (meaning each rim) great job man. definatly a great 'change in style'

there off of my '86 944. procedure i used was
1. strip off paint.
2. clean wheels soapy water
3. spray can 'bulldog adhesion promoter'
4. mix up the base coat in my spray gun. spray a few coats on.
5. mix up the hardener/clear in the spray gun, and put a few more coats.
then just let em dry, the cleaning and masking took about 4 hours, and the painting took about 1 hour. very simple, that was my first "REAL, non rattle can job"
