Pacesetter Blows!

Okay so im a dumbass and I tried to be cheap by buying a complete pacesetter exhaust from headers back. Well the y pipe catches on something so I cant install it.
Im sending that crap back and but want to keep the header.

My question is what can I use with the pacesetter header???

Pacesetter is a really shitty company... If I were you, I would just go to a local exhaust shop and have them fab everything for you. It'll probably be around the same cost and it'll last longer.

I ran around with a used Pacesetter header for a short time, it bolts up t the main cat. I ran it with a CS test pipe and cat-back, it was loud as hell. It sounded like the world's largest chainsaw.

The average fabed set up is gonna sound like that too. Anything with a straight pipe and a single muffler sounds like a chainsaw. What you get for the money imo.

The y-pipe is crap. Where the pipe begins to Y, the two exhaust pipes protrude into the exhaust path on the inside, effectively creating a large restriction.

The header on the other hand is much better than the Y-pipe, and can take years of use. But I'd still save up a tad more for the Racing Beat one.

Ive had my pacesetter header for 3 years now(was a cheap *** at the time) and have NO problems with it, holds up very well. I run a resinator and the dynomax catback system with the header fits fine.

okay well then if you were to buy something other than the fabricated stuff too keep it as quiet as possible what would you recommend? cuz I have a 3" resonator/test pipe coming and I wanna go 3" all the way back from the header. Or is fab the only way to go on this??

3" exhaust either your gonna have to fab it yourself or spend alot of money. do they even make a premade 3" exhaust?

Do you have a turbo motor? No reason to go 3" if you are n/a.

Yeah 3" is excessive for an NA. You wont get quiet with a header and test pipe. All the header set ups i've heard are quite loud, even with a presilencer. Even on my NA with stock manifold, presilencer and replacement cat it is not quiet, its not exactly loud though.

If you wanna quiet it down as much as possible i'd see if you can get a presilencer that fits your header. Also get some good mufflers like the racing beat ones (2.5" duals), definately dont go single muffler cause that will make it loud as hell and sound like a weed whacker.

Be carefull with fabed stuff or cherry bombs or "turbo" mufflers, the rotary motor because of it valve-less design and high engine speed creates some incredibly hot exhaust which will eat up cheap exhaust stuff in a matter of months some times.

An NA with a header is the loudest engine on the planet.
Only a good quality pre-silencer will do.
After that, whatever muffler suits you taste.
With a good pre-silencer, even cheap bombs will work out on the end where the exhaust is cooler.

Buy Bonez Superflow Cat/Presilencer setup, and the Borla dual catback. You will not regret a single cent of it.
