P/S Hose Question (pic)

Gotta 90 NA and I see my P/S high pressure hose has cracks. I assume all are in bad shape and I can get hoses except I can't find the hose marked with the 'yellow' arrow. It comes from the steering rack and connects to the return loop pipe. Where can I find a new one? No one seems to carry this hose.

Still looking. Mazda quit making them and a used replacement is likely cracking as well.

Take the hose with the ends to a hydraulic hose repair shop. They will replace the hose with the correct type of hose for the application needed and use the original hard ends. They can do hydraulic for PS, they will do A/C barrier hose for A/C hoses etc.

My experience with this is that some of these shops are very very reasonably priced. Some of them will break it off in you. If the price is expensive (over $100) walk away and try another.

I was just looking for a hydraulic hose shop online, but none listed around in my area. I saw a place called Racefab online that says they can make any hose. I'll give them a call. Anyone know a fabricator in FL?

You should find one easily in a *paper* copy of the local yellow pages.

Online business listings are garbage for finding info. For several years, if you googled 'orielly' or any combination of 'orielly's auto parts' the first page of results came up with sponsored links for Autozone, Advance Auto, Napa, etc.

Over here in Clearwater, FL we've got a shop who does hydraulic lines. I had both oil cooler hoses redone for $75 w/ tax. They're out there man!

Old school rules, but shops are hard to find these days. Machine shops, etc., use to be everywhere but not anymore. The hydraulic shop gave me the name of an A/C shop, so word of mouth is good too.

Success! Hoses fabricated by Pirtek. Great company and they are customer friendly in letting you watch while they make them up.
