P/S, a/c removal

Hi, i´m starting preparing my car to trackdays and i want to remove the a/c (not working) and the power steering (had a leakage so i disconected it).
My question is: what do i have to do to remove the oil pump of the power seering? (what do i have to do with the oil lines).
What other tips can you give me?

search for p/s removal, there is a thread that explains how to remove the p/s and put botls in the gear box to block the fluid from leaking, you also have to put a bolt in the coolant lines.

or do like the other 2 said and get a manual rack, if you can afford it. Me i just put bolts so nothing leaked out, get the same result. maybe not as good as the rack swap, but oh well.

rack = massave amount of work
bolts in the hols = 20-30 min of easy work.

no no don't get a manual rack. Get a 89 power rack or if you have one just remove the seals. It was a very easy thing to do. Plus the 89 rack is better than a manual rack.

You have to loosen the bottom two with a regular or ratchet wrench. You cannot remove them all the way. Loosen them up enough to where you can slide them to hit the frame rail. Then you slide your pump out of spot and the bolts will come with it.

ya. i have the engine out of my 89. i havent decided whether to leave the ps in or not. prolly gonna leave it in because i dont wanna deal w/ the bull of taking everything out. plus i hear that the rack steering in it is supposed to be the shiznat. just a word

the 2 bottom bolts i had a standard box wrench, it took forever to get them out but i did it. then i went out to buy ratchet wrenches lol.
