Overheating Problems???

ok so im having some problems with my car gettin really hot and i have no idea why it is, i just changed my oil, coolant is full and everything else seems just fine. im thinking maybe its my thermostat malfuctioning. Im not sure tho im lookin for some opions. ive herd a way to test to see if the thermostat is fucked, is just take it right out and drive it and see what happens . what do ya think?????? help!

dude change the thermostat if it still gets hot after that try water pump raid cap

where are these people coming from...




there really is no easy way to test the thermostat, if it hasn't been replaced in a while and you suspect it is faulty then replace it, simple as that. do NOT use anything other than an OEM thermostat, aftermarket ones tend to cause rotary engines to run a bit warmer than normal.

#1 You never want to take the thermostat out and just drive the car. The cooling system needs the restriction to properlly cool the engine.

#2 Did you check everything in the FAQ for FC sticky thread about cooling??? It has a post in there that covers everything that should be in place and what to look for when overheating.

#3 The factory service manual shows how to test the Thermostat, and Karack is right, you only want to use a Mazda OEM thermostat if you need to replace one.

#4 your bump has been deleted, bumps are forbidden here in the 2nd gen RX-7 technical section.
