Overheating on new rebuild/ air in system/ detailed?
Hey all,
I drove my car home on friday from my friends garage where I was working on it. Everything seemed fine, the temp was half way, but nothing bad. Anyway drove it around yesterday, and my coolent buzzer went off(I hate that POS) So I added some coolent and drove home to look at it. Lucky for me I was very close to my house. Well, sure enough I was low, and I had coolent spilling from tranmission. I was like "what the hell" coolent should not be leaking from there. I traced it to the heater hose on the passenger side, that was leaking. Anyway, I fixed it, and I was losing no more coolent. Took it for a drive again, and after about 15 min, my temp just shot up and my heater stopped blowing hot air, also the ADD COOLENT light went off again. Stoped the car. I was NOT leaking coolent, but my resovoir was overfilling and the coolent in there was cold, and leaking out. I though I found the problem that time, the coolent line on the firewall side of the TB, sounded as though it was not sealed correctly, and sucking air in. I figured that would acount for all the air in my system and why the car though it had low coolent, and the resivoir overfilling becuase it was not being sucked back in. I fixed that today. Took it for a short drive, and the heat started to shoot up, I shut it off before the LOW COOLENT light went off.
Any ideas what I should do next. I letting it cool off ad I type this, then I plan of retighening all the hoses. I am kinda stumped otherwise.
thanks
