overheating ?_?

My car has a really jumpy idle and it overheats everytime I drive for more than 40 mins no matter how slow, or how fast I drive (just heats up a lil faster when I drive fast).

The line going from the rad to the thermostat housing (I have a s4 gxl) seems like it has a shitload of pressure in it. I replaced my rad cap and I have flushed the system twice.

When driving sometimes I swear I hear dripping or running water from the dash.

When I turn my heat on full blast it gets hot than cold then hot then cold.

I just put a new cat in and it is not clogged, I even check today.

Can someone please shed some light?

I have a new rad coming in a few days but I don't think that it is the problem. My stock rad looks really clean, I even sprayed it with water and the temp didn't go down at all.

Even on the highway the temp doesn't go down?

when you flush the system are you bleeding it afterwards? if not than you most definatly have air lock in the cooling system, it usually wont show it self until it gets hung up in the heatercore and then again in the radiator, you need to bleed the system and take it for another drive. i really hope you didnt overheat the car TOO much

I'm gonna take it to my friend at midas and see what he thinks. Its overheated 3 times, it might be time for a compression test -_-.

I might buy the rotary diy dvds and get cracking.

I didn't see a new thermostat in your checklist.
