overheating

Alright, i'm fed up with this car.... bout to toss it in storage for a year (while i goto trade school), but i'd like to figure out the exact problem before i leave, so i can be ready to fix it when i'm back... the car will start (sometimes easy, sometimes i'll have to pull the plugs, torch em, put em back in, blah blah..), when it's running, it runs great, smokes a lot sometimes, usually when it's warming up, but it never stops warming up, it just goes straight to overheating....my plans are to just start building a 13b up and have it ready, but if this one is fixable without rebuild, i'd go for that...!

it's a 1987 rx-7 GXL.

sounds like your waterpump isnt working correctly... do you still have your airpump????

the sparkplug prob could be a result of overheating.

does your fan clutch slip??

airpump is still there, don't know if the fan clutch slips, but the overflow tank blows steam/antifreeze out of it...

that could be a bad coolant seal. take off your radiator cap and start the car.

if it blows coolant out everywhere then you have a bad coolant seal and you need a rebuild.
