Smile Pos' coolant seal or air trapped in system

Top up your cooling system, making sure to bleed the air out of the upper radiator by using the air bleed screw located on the upper radiator inlet.Start your engine up and let it idle for awhile with the filler cap off at the water pump. Check to see if you've got a lot of bubbles in the coolant circulating thru there. Or do they just come thru for awhile but then pretty much quit after the thermostat opens. After the thermostat has opened. Stop the engine, take the EGI fuse out from the fuse block thats under the hood and have someone crank the engine over. If you get lots of coolant surging out from the filler, your coolant seals are toast and you should probably do a rebuild. Also Check out coolant seal fix at http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/.
If you do not get a lot of coolant surging out your seals are probably OK.

changed the rad cap again and the car seems to run fine but when i turn off the car i must add more water or it will overheat. could it be that the water evaporates?

Hye, had the same problem... 1) check the fan clutch, 2) check the heater hose for leaks. The problems with my car was with these 2.
