BC overflowing coolant reservoir?

so heres the thing I have a koyo radiator in my GXL and yesterday i noticed that the hose from the reservoir goes to the koyo radiator and theres a nipple on the filler neck....now in a FC that has a stock rad i know that the hose goes to the filler neck where the thermostat is....so i decided to put the hose back to where i think it belongs and i bought a hose from autozone and connected the other end of that hose to the radiator and now my coolant reservoir is filling up and my coolant level on the filler neck and the rad is not full

heres some pics to show what i did

I know someone knows the right way of doing this I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

The first thing is it appears the line between the front rad support is pinched.

Take the over flow line off the radiator, and plug that hole.

Now run the overflow line from the T-stat filler neck to the bottle.. and leave the puke tube discard downwards. if you are not getting a warm oveflow line, I would check the fluid level, once you changed everything.

You have it right already, remove rad line, plug rad. and make small line pointing downward where you had the rad line connected.

can you remove the current nipple and replace it with a screw in type slug? is it threaded?

I also think they make no opening caps, that would also work, as long as the bottom of the cap seals and doesn't allow leaking.

You shouldn't have that much pressure in the system I think 19 psi. or 1.3 bar. or whatever you decide.

I just capped my koyo with a rubber cap and 2 zip ties. I have had no problems. Also the cap on the over flow bottle can only be placed in one position. I think it has to have the peice that helps open it facing the engine.

I'm at work cant see pics

you should do the above method with changing the hoses, plug the rad with a rubber cap and put a small hose clamp over it but keep an eye on it cause after a while the dry rot from the heat. if the tank still over flows you need to replace both rad caps with OEM type caps

The foam seal makes sure the air goes through the radiator and not around it. Also if you hard mount things like radiators, the inside tubes break, end tanks come apart. Always rubber mount everything, vibrations are not good for anything.

I found mine in a box that held a windsheild. Maybe if you go by some wharehouse you could find some. Basically a place that will have to unpack lots of big items.

Just make sure it doesn't burn easy. It's best to cut it to fit as well. YOu can also use foam in diffrent places. I used some on my back hatch right were it locks in. It keeps the window from vibrating when playing music.

You have the right cap on that thing? Pull it off and the spring loaded rubber seal thing on the bottom should push the cap back at you. You should have to push it down to get it on there. If it's teh wrong cap and only the top seal is sealing then all the pressure from the cooling system will bypass the cap and go straight into the overflow bottle.

my bad on my part my car looks like that now..and where freemanrx7 put that X for the cap that part is the one leaking not the rad cap but that does make sense that it should keep the pressure down....my rad cap right now says 0.9 should it be at 1.3?

go to the auto parts store and buy 13psi and 16 psi radiator caps. The stock radiator cap is 13 psi, put it on the t-stat housing with the overflow tube. put the 16psi cap on the radiator. you can plug the radiator overflow port, but you really shouldnt need to, since coolant pressure will never get that high (t-stat cap will keep it at 13psi). Leave teh other side of the overflow tank cap open to vent
