Over heating

Over heating

I just recently baught a 1987 mazda rx7 and im pretty sure its having some over heating issues. It is a 13b single roter non-turbo. Ill drive for about 30 45 minutes and the water temp gauge in my car reads 250 and thats the very end of the gauge so i dont know exacly how hot its getting. What could tbis be

what's to diagnose?

at 250F+ there is already definite internal engine damage caused to the seals.
