outer water jacket seals ...

I have searched forum and couldn't find anything pertaining to my question :

I finally got all my parts for my engine...(86 Base N/A 13B) and I started putting it together... And I am on the last end housing.. trying to put the water seals on.. Well the inner one is ok.. But the outer one is stretched dramatically.. It's too big for the channel... Any idea what to do? I'm keeping it inside and letting it sit for a while see if it will return to normal size... Anyone else have this problem ?

Hopefully by the time someone responds to this, I will have it in and fitting just fine heh.. Didn't have this problem at all last 2 times I rebuilt it haha

Thank you

I've been there and done that. New seal. Decided to put some vaseline on it . Worked all the way around it with vaseline on my fingers unknowingly stretching it. Duh. Won't fit. Too big a diameter. Open wallet and go to the dealer and buy another one. Don't cram it in the groove as is, please. Sad story. I've seen at least one other report of someone doing the same thing on this forum. I've been real, real, real careful not to stretch them since that experience.

Yea brand new... I think the gaskacinch causedit to expand.. reason why :

I put it in the groove, and held it down with sockets.. then gooped gaskacinch on it and it would pop up in the spot I put gaskacinch.. Shrug I think it will unexpand back to normal size over night I let ya know how it' goes..
otherwise do you think my mazda dealer nearby would have some in stock? (doubtful.. be better off buying from mazdatrix and waiting some more)
