Otto Racing muffler?
Will this muffler last on my 86 base rx-7 with the cats intact? They say that it has stainless steel wool packing based around the core and fiberglass on the outer part. Its cheap as hell and I am most likely going to get them. for forty bucks each its hard to lose.

looks fine to me if the inside is big enough. what you really need to know is if the core is atleast 2.25" all the way through or if it reduces inside. some of that fibreglass packing might blow out over time but for 40 bucks, who cares? looks nicer than my magnaflow setup.

okay I dont get it, why do you guys think it "looks POS to me" what is so POS about it. how is a piece of stainless steel gonna rot out and if the inside is big enough how can a straight through muffler flow bad? Hell if its not an SDJ motorsports stepped header with a merged collector and a straight pipe it looks POS to me. If you wanna see POS get your pipe bent in cookeville TN. like mine. now that is POS! If you pay $500 for an exhaust, that is POS. Spend that $$ in school and learn how to weld.

We got one cheap. Put it on bridgeported engine. Its working pretty well. The car is an autocross only car so it won't have many miles on it but for $40 with our application it works just fine.

I would not get it for the simple reason that it looks like it has a 4 inch tip but really its made for a honda and only has a 2 inch exit. Go ahead and pass on this. Also if you are looking for a quaility catback check out corksport. I have a 3 setup from them and its loud.
To loud now that I have a full racing pipe turbo back, but its like 200 bucks for the unit. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. Leave the ebay/pepboys/autozone stuff alone. Can't hold up to the heat out engine put out

thats funny cause racing beat uses that same size for their ultra pretty honda mufflers too. it did say it was packed with stainless mesh. that part should hold up. why is this a bad muffler again? POS POS POS hahahhhaaa. why don't you spend that money an a Spin Tech or a Dyno Max ultra flow if you want a real muffler.

thanks for the input. I think i will get it, I personally think 400 buck for two mufflers made by apexi is insane. Its just a can. Id rather put my money elsewhere like paying for the gas the beast guzzles.
