i asked for a s4 t2 motor and they gave me a s5 t2 j spec and im putting it in my s4 car so i need a front s4 cover and a s4 harness and thats all i need right to run my car.....i have an s4 computer.....

 

Well even better for you, Free upgrade. But I'd rebuild it before you drop it in though.

 

was there a price difference between the to?? i thought you couldnt mix the harness series with motor series??? or did i read wrong??

 

I posted about this too, The harnesses are different the injectors everything..... OMP front cover..It sucks but kicks *** all at the same time.

No rebuild, 110 psi is good enough wouldn't you say? Decent compression #'s...

 

Someone who ordered a S5 motor is going to recieve a S4.

basically you can only really use the shortblock.

You'll have to use the front cover, intake manifolds, injectors, and throttle body from your TII. But you can use the S5 turbo, that's an upgrade.

 

you know after reading all of these osaka threads as of late, I think I have found my place to shop when I purchase a motor/tranny for my swap into my gsl-se. I am going to get it rebuilt of course, but they have some great prices.

I got my s5 turbo motor from Osaka in early Dec. I plan to upgrade the car in the future and like whatI have heard about the microtech ecus so I am purchasing an lt-8s set-up. This way I can eliminate emisions and feel more comfortable with aftermarket fuel managent. granted its expensive I amvery excited to see how she purr's.

This happened to me when I bought a Jspec. They can never ID S4/S5 right.

I told the importer and they apologized. Now they usually won't take it back due to shipping costs. It's more in their interest to send out the small parts to make it work.

My seller sent me some S4 fuel injectors to make my harness work.(They then proceeded to accidentally send me 460's!!!!instead if 550's!!).

Anyway. I am running all the big parts from a S5.
S5 UIM/LIM
S5 Turbo

I swapped front covers when I got it rebuilt but it's a uesless mod. Just PREMIX!!!! It's soooooo easy and you can then capp off those bastard oi injection lines.

Then Swap a S4 TPS on the TB.

Swapped over to a S4 BAC

I think I also swapped over a S4 waterpump

Ditch the rats nest at the same time.Too many vac lines for stupid/exempt stuff.

You will not have the S5 stock boost controller and you won't have the S4 twin scroll. Big deal.... My turbo with a full turbo back spools perfectly fine.

I did end up using S4 rotors due to the fact that we opened up the block and the front rotor was trashed and it's cheaper to get S4's.

Them coming as a core doesn't make a whole lot of sense to them.
Unless you specialize in Rx7's it would be a PITA to sell parts.

Anyway.
I think if you have it written down in paper that you purchased a S4 block then they have not fullfilled their deal and are in breach of the sale(Not the merchandise you ordered).
So they should get you the injectors and if you can try for a TB/TPS and the BAC.
Small things will probably be sent out. If you ask for hard stuff like front covers they may try getting the block back.

the number 11 has been a big part of my life. As in F-111. I also think the HE-111 was a pretty good looking airplane, for its day.

 

Osaka makes you order over the phone. Perhaps they will make it right. I still think that it kinda cool, just opened up a new can of worms....

 

well im very happy that i got that motor i really will like the free 20 hp it will be good for my not expriced driveing fast cars.......my first rx-7....(to have on the road) i have made one other one run but it was an n/a
