Ordering a bunch of stuff need your advice

Ok in an effort to eliminate my 2 most dreaded and most difficult problems ive had since i bought my car i have made a list of things to replace that MUST cure my idle problems and hesitation problems. But before i go ahead with this purchase (which is approx. $275 total with shipping) I want to ask you guys for your opinion.
My list includes:
1. UIM and LIM gaskets
2. Pulsation dampener
3. Replacing all vaccum hoses
4. Fuel filter
5. Thermostat
6. Radiator cap
Along with this stuff im going to clean the intake manifold, check for air leaks of any kind in the manifold, ground the fuel injector harness and im sending out the injectors to get cleaned

So what do ya think? Am i on in the right track to getting my 2 problems solved? Anything missing? Thanks

What actions have you already tried to solve it/them?

Santiago

PS- the list sounds good to me.

Unless you have one already, a good inductive timing light. Maybe a trip to Radio Shack to buy some small 12v bulbs to build a TPS tester....

The list looks good otherwise, should just about cure every under hood problem you can find.

The vacuum line replacement made a big difference on my NA, but should help the TII just as much.

Good luck!

"What actions have you already tried to solve it/them?"

I ran some new grounds that helped with the hesitation problems but its still there. The idle is the wierdest/hardest thing ive been trying to solve. My car has high idle with pulsing when its cold, but then it goes to 800 on a hot day or after ive driven the car all day. Ive done plenty to try to solve this. I went through nearly every procedure in the FSM but nothing worked. In fact the only way i was able to get the idle to 800 after it was FULLY warmed up was to mess with the fast idle cam screw and now i am able (at least) to get it down to 800 with no pulsing.

"how old is your cat. converter?"
No converter, check sig.

I can't believe nobody has jumped you about the "ground the injector harness" step...Unless you're talking about cleaning up the existing ground on the rear rotor housing (which is not part of the injector circuit per se, but instead runs to the ECU), if you ground any wiring in the injector circuit, you'll either blow the EGI fuse, or apply continuous power to the injector, depending on which wire you've grounded...

BTW, you should have first cleaned and/or beefed up that rotor housing ground before you added any additional grounds, that might have solved your problem right off the bat...

I meant ground the fuel injector harness. I did a search and found that this was one of the best and most important grounds to do.

Ahhh, all is well then...You are correct, for engine performance, this is THE OEM ground to have in perfect condition...Just be careful when you call it an injector harness ground, Icemark will jump all over you for using the wrong terminology, lol...Even though everyone knows what you're refering to...

yes ground that bad boy

I would focus on vacuum leaks. If the intake has not been split yet it shouild be fine, if not, I would replace those gaskets as quick as possible.

hey I had ur same problem and it's gone after a fuel filter, new sparkplugs, oxygen sensor and some MMO in the fuel. I have no idea which did it, most likely the plugs or MMO since it seemed like a lack of proper fuel detonation.

I would also check the TID if you haven't already, that was the cause of my idle problems. They often crack due to the heat of turbo.

Sounds good, even if it dosent fix your problem, that's good stuff to replace anyway. I ordered all new manifold gaskets, turbo gaskets, thermostat, plugs, wires, silicone vacuum line, and some other stuff just because recently.

If you got the lower intake manifold gasket like you said you should also get the two rubber orings that go in the lower intake manifold.
