OPUS Garage Project FC Turbo

Hi everyone!!

This will be project so I start new thread.
This is the car that I have bought while ago as RX7 FC 1986 GXL model, but with 12A engine

here is the link

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/one-more-rotary-freak-698371/

I had some things to do on some Hondas, so I have transported FC to my friends yard to make some room. In that year and half that she stayed on yard I have found crashed RX7 S4 Turbo. There was engine, tranny, diff with halfshafts, wiring, ECU, injectors and some things... missing turbo, IC, fuel pump, brake calipers, hood, some interior, etc...
When we took car back it was in very nice shape as before, but friends dog, ( he doesn't know name of his dog! ) who almost die for his second time, took bite from rear spoiler and scratch rear end ( I don't want to know how ).

Some parts I don't have so best thing for me is to remove ecological "stuff". I will make my own exhaust system, intake system with modified intake manifold, pipeing for IC ( don't have standard IC so I will use IC from Ford Probe for now ). Little things just to start car...

I hope I will have better progress than before, stay tuned

Pics of rear spoiler and pics of engines,

Hope he chokes! First time he almost die was when he jump on owners car and bent Kia fender, fortunately dog roll 2+ save on owners foot.

You pulled a 12a out of there? The mounts are in different spots unless a 13b middle iron was used.

What's the plan with the car?

Yes, they was use engine mount from 13b, weld the metal plate under oil pan to connect this two engine mount.. sorry, I don't have any picture..

For now are plan to remove all emissions, build aluminium exhaust, ss downpipe, pipes for intercooler, water... later, when car starts, build exhaust manifold for stock turbo + external wastegate, add water to air intercooler, build intake manifold etc..

Yeah, changing the dash is no fun at all. I'll buy a different 7 before I change another dash in one.

Your blue dash looks mint.

I'm quite baffled that their was a 12a in there. What was the purpose. Did you ever ask the PO about it (like why he did it)?

I don't think it's that bad although I was surprised how big it is...you don't really notice till it's out of the car.
I had mine out right after buying the car and took the opportunity to really clean all the ductwork, which was filthy. I also tried to ghetto-fix the broken mounting tabs but that hasn't held up very well, so I'll be doing it again if I can find a good replacement. As intricate as the plastic dash structure is you'd think they could have done a better job reinforcing the mount points, but nooo.

It's very loud, so I decide to fabricate 2 mufflers with silencer and I was surprised how "quiet" idle was. I didn't rev it because of neighbors but soon I will have some video of sound. Of course that doesn't means that I wont put them back for test drive

few more photo of alu exhaust.

Thanks!

Downpipe is made of SS304 and it's connected via V-band to aluminum exhaust. Now I have all SS304 exhaust.

In aluminum exhaust I use only chambers without any other material like ceramic wool...

On this two mufflers I use ceramic wool and they both free flow mufflers.

I use similar aluminum exhaust on my Civic and it's quiet.. In VTEC, car sounds like modern turbocharged car If you want you can check it on this link - http://www.youtube.com/user/OPUSGarage

Not to mention that sound of this aluminum muffler on Civic is the same as it was the first day it was made
