Opinions on weber carbs

I am just wonder if anyone has weber side draft carbs on there cars, and if you do what do you think of them, how much power gain did you notice, and were did you get them, and how much did you pay for it.

Thanks

Unless you are experienced with Weber Carb tuning and have access to a variety of jets and Emulsion tubes I would recommend a NOVICE avoid the conversion

For the price of a new carb conversion kit, you could buy a new Microtech EMS. Strangely enough, EFI is a little easier for a novice to tune since everything is numerical as opposed to carb tuning such as bending the float tab, replacing the red spring with the green spring, blocking this passageway and porting that one, turning this screw about 1/8 turn or that screw about 3 turns, using this jet with that emulsion tube, etc. Carb tuning is a difficult art to learn.

BUT, once it is learned it can yield great results. I would say unless you know lots about carbs then don't bother with this swap, but if your good with carbs then go right ahead.

Well I have only worked on one carb and it was on a 1951 international truck so there is probably alot of difference. But still has anyone ever actually had them on there car, and did you have to set it like once every other day or did you just tinker with the setting every now and then.

I used to run a pair of 45 DCOE's on 2.0L 2TG Toyota, needed to be tweeked with each engine mod. For someone just learning to drive and modify a car on a limited budget, I would not recommend it. John
