opinions on springs?

im goning to go with agx or ilumina struts, but i dont know what springs to go with. i want stiffer ride but i dont want the car slammed to the ground. i want the best performance with the least amount of lowering. im leaning towards the rb springs, i have them in my 85 and love them. i dont want to pay the extra money for adjustable springs either, seem like a hassel. ill be auto crossing and a lot of fast street driving. so, if i could get some ideas of how the different spring ride/handel/lower that would be great. thanks to anybody that replys.

i have the ebaich springs on my car and they only lowered it about a half and inch i like the looks also the ride is alot stiffer than stock but that could have also same from the AGX shocks. its not too hard but its alot harder than stock was. im sure the old springs where worn out they are 14 yrs old after all

I think some linear rate (???) springs would be cool, but man would they ride ROUGH. It would handle pretty dang good though.

The Eibachs are progressive. Suspension techniques make springs that are linear.

I run tokico struts and springs and the ride is fine, lowered the car about 1.5 inches but it really handles alot better than stock. I autocrossed with success till i blew an apex seal, thats this winters project!

The Eibach's I have are the 'Pro-kit' progressive springs.
I do notice a little 'softness' at first. Sometimes I get a little wheel hop. I am running AGX's on the car, too.
The combination on the street is great, but if you want to push the car harder, I'd look at the RB springs (linear) or the Eibach 'Sport-line' (also linear).

I NEVER use old factory springs (60k or more) with new struts/shocks. Especially with performance struts/shocks.
When I replaced the struts on my wifes 91 Tercel (bought it new) I used the 100,000 mile springs. I used factory struts, but the ride was not as good as when new. Even though it was 8 years later, I could still tell it wasn't what it should be.
I don't think that using stiff struts to compensate for old springs is a good idea. Probably places too much stress on the strut when it is trying to do the job of the spring, too. Not enirely sure about this, though. Just an opinion.

my dad has Eibachs on his WRX they lowerd the car .75" and it doesn't ride much worse than stock. but it does feel a lot better, anyone that has driven one will know how they feel "tipsy" stock, and now it feels nice and tight, like my 7.

I would avoid intrex springs, they are very squishy, and slam the car to much.
