I have an 87 GXL, I got in July 05. By my birthday of November 14th I pretty much killed the motor. (I overheated the motor and now it loves coolant and smokes but still runs) so right now it’s sitting at a friend’s place (All stock) until I move and have a place to work on my car….I’m going to be rebuilding it.




I plan on repainting it the same colour and repairing some small rust spots. I am going to do a few small body mods like getting rid of the rubber side strips and smoothing it over.

One spot I have no clue on is which direction to take is with my motor. I have two ideas

1) Rebuild my motor and transmission (it’s have too many miles on it and just doesn’t shift right) Street port the motor...etc and try to reach the 200rwhp mark.

2) Trash the drivetrain and replace it with the turbo drivetrain for a sleeper car and get it to reach the 300rwhp mark with a street port…etc.

I’m just wondering what you guys opinions are.
