operating rod for handle

The door operating rod that connects the handle to the door mechanism, I've been pulling on it for half an hour now... won't budge. How do you remove this? Haynes manual diagram and text just says "disconnect" but doesn't tell how.

There are little white plactic tabs that hold it in the hole, rotate the clip and the rod end slides right out.

you might have to unclip the top of the plastic piece and then rotate and pull it out. or just rotate and pull it out...i forget. take the door panel off and look at it...its not hard. just make sure you dont break the plastic pieces.

I've tried to unclip the top of the plastic piece, it won't budge even half a centimeter.

use a screwdriver to pop the top part open if you can't get it with your fingers. once open, twist the plastic piece and pull the rod out.

Screwdriver hasn't been working, that's what I've been using to try.

I can't get this damn thing off for the life of me...

it snaps around the End of the Rod..so what you do is get a screwdriver and Poke at it,where it starts ON the rod.it will snap off, then the rod(which has a J end on it)will come out of the handle.
