Open element filter ?'s

I am changing the OEM airbox for an open element filter. I have seen the final installs, but can't figure out a couple steps on getting there.

Well, before I take the car further apart than I can easily put back together, I figured I would ask for information on two things.

1) What do I do with the rubber hose between the engine and the airbox?

2) What do I do with the electrical connection (MAF sensor?) that is connected to the metal block I remove before installing the open element filter?

I tried searching, but couldn't seem to find this...

Thank you~

Um... that electrical connection going to the metal box sort of has to remain connected to that metal box (which has to be in the intake air stream) for the car to run... Unless you're switching out fuel computers as well.

rubber hose that goes to air box you need to buy a small breather filter adn put that on it, this is the one that goes to airpump right? and you have to keep the AFM, if you haev an s4 you will need an adapter if you have s5 you can just put filter directly on AFM

OK... I understand the small filter attached to the hole in the engine... are these easy to find to buy?

I have an S4... and... lo and behold, the adapter is on it and meshes to the metal box... as you can tell, I am not mechanical, and it was 2 1/2 months since I have bought it and have gotten around to putting it in...

Now I just need to recall how the unit mounted back onto the bracket hole. Oh well... a zip-tie seems to work for now.
