Open 02 circuit

What are the general side effects of a completely non-working 02 sensor? More specifically will it affect the 7 @ idle?

O2 sensor, or lack of one, does not affect idle.

Will it make it (car) run rich?

Yes, but not at idle. Will run rich when cruising.

hmmm I need to fix it then. For some reason...

Whenever I cut off my flood switch, the car will idle for up to 2 seconds after. I guess its burning off excess gas.
