Question one rotor misfire

hello everyone i gota 91 rx7 with a streetport

For some reason i have a misfire on one rotor according to a mechanic i took it to, i failed a pre test because the 7 was running way too rich. He said the spark looked great all around, and he checked tps. He also said he checked the emissions. But he could not figure out why one rotor would be misfiring. He disconnected one of the spark pugs and he said the misfire died down. i don't remember what rotor he said was the culprit but im planning on looking at it.

I'd like it if someone could give me some ideas about what could lead to a one rotor misfire?

thanks

is it a dead miss... like only running on one rotor or only occasionally?

Could be a bad side seal... i'd check the compression... then start looking at coils/injectors.

as long as theres fuel/air/compression and spark it's gonna run... we know air is getting there... so now its just start the process of elimination. hopefully its a quick fix.

idk what is a dead miss?

my misfire is random its not a steady miss

i just rebuilt it like 300 miles ago but ill check compression again.

i replaced the injectors and the spark seems fine last tie i checked the coils were good...

coils can go bad, but random misfire is kinda weird... just one rotor or both? try a compression test just to make sure

ok the compression test came back good no bad apex seals or side seals.

i found out that it is my front rotor that is misfiring, the L1 wire was missing when i was using the timing light. i hooked the L2 wire to the front rotor and did the light again and the L2 wire showed that it was missing, so i know it has to do with the front rotor and not the coil. i checked the trailing and they are ok.

I cleaned the CAS connector and it didn't change anything, im going to swap my CAS just to make sure that isn't the culprit.

What else could cause the front rotor to misfire and not the rear?

i forgot to mention that the misfire is only there on idle, whether in gear with the clutch in or not, but during driving it does not misfire.
