one more fuel question (sorry)

ok i have been searching, and compiling info, but i have one question for you guys (which has been answered by two helpful dudes), but im looking for a general consinsus about running rich with my type of setup.
ok...

88TII, no emissions
gonna have a TID from 2a+ron
full turbo back 3" exhaust
s5 turbo
s5 jspec upper and lower intake...
i know im gonna need some more fuel to cover the higher boost levels..

im gonna port the wastegate...
stock injectors
im also gonna get a walbro fuel pump...
im not going to rewire it just yet, as i dont feel like tackling that quite just yet....
i cant afford an s-afc now, but that will be my next purchase...

my question is this :
how many of you out there are running a similar setup without using an s-afc to control the fuel....
how rich are you running, and does this work well for a temperary setup?
i KNOW that will be running rich, but how rich will it be really.....will it rob a noticable amount of power from me, or will it still run great?
i want my car back ASAP, and this is the option i have laid before me....

any pertinant comments would be appreciated!
i know ive asked similar questions before, but like i said im looking for everyone that has a similar setup so they can tell me how thier car ran in the same situation....

thanks

Well I strongly recomend you go with the GSL-SE injectors in the secondaries, and leave the stock 550's in the primaries. Just in case you dont know what GSL-SE injectors are, they come from the first generation RX7 GSL-SE. Now as far as the fuel pump is concerned you can go with a Walbro, or a FD F.Pump which is just as good as the Supra F.Pump. But as some people strongly recomend here on this forum is to rewire the F.Pump to make sure the pump is getting the proper voltage it needs, if your pump does not get the proper voltage it needs than you can kiss your motor bye, bye.
Also on my 88 T-II I was running the GSL-SE injectors in the secondaries, and then I got this itch to buy two brand new Greddy 720's injectors I installed those in the secondaries, and took the SE's out and sold them to a friend of mine. Anyways the reason I did this is, because im always flying low on the highway hauling ***, so I wanted to make sure I was getting a little bit more fuel for top-end speed "So I bought the Greedy 720's as a insurance policy just to make sure im getting more fuel up on top. From what I could tell you from my personal experience is the car ran pig rich with the Greedy 720's in the secondaries, because obviously its a bigger injector, and I have no type of fuel controller to control the amount of fuel the injector is injecting. EG: S-AFC, Haltech, Microtech, etc. Now with your setup I recomend you go with the 720's because your gonna get the S-AFC, and with that fuel controler my friend you can control the 720's perfectly the other reason I recomend them is also because your buying a "Brand New Injector" that has never been used, and also if you did by the GSL-SE'S used I would highly recomend you get them profesionaly cleaned, before installing them in your T-II. And if in the future you decide to go with a bigger setup EG: T04E, 60-1, Turbo, you can slap those 720's in the primaries and in the secondaries you would go with the 1600's. By the way if I were you, I would get a Microtech, your gonna get a hell of a lot better gas mileage overall, and not to mention the fact that its alot more versatile tha the S-AFC. Also to let you know if you do decide to go with the Greedy 720's they are not available for the FC Turbo 2. Greedy makes them specificly for the FD Twin turbo, but they will fit in your T-II you will just have to slightly trim the blue plastic piece of the injector to make it fit in your T-II. Also you should get a FMIC. Good Luck.

I'm not sure why you think you'll be running so rich, since you don't have any way of adding more fuel. Looking at your exhaust and intake mods I think the biggest problem you might have is too much boost. If you can't control boost you're going to risk running lean, not rich.

Too much boost has other consequences besides running lean, so instead of just trying to stop detonation with buckets of fuel from bigger injectors, you should make sure you can control your boost. With a stock turbo at sensible boost levels there's no need for bigger injectors. Once you have boost under control have it dyno'd to see what the mixtures really are.

Get the S-AFC before you fork out for injectors, and have it dyno-tuned with a wide-band A/F meter. You'll gain power by leaning out any areas that are too rich and can add fuel at the top end if needed. You only need to upgrade the injectors if you exceed 80-85% duty cycle.

Don't be afraid of the fuel pump rewire. I've just done mine and it's not as bad as it first looks. Just follow the schematic I've posted elsewhere and you'll be fine. My fuel pump voltage increased by 2V, which is a lot of extra capacity.

right on....

im not getting bigger injectors for some time, as i also dont think i need them...
my only concern is flying down the interstate and having my boost creep up past 9 or 10 psi....
but the safc will be my next mod most likely...

oh....and i AM scared of the rewire
