Exclamation OMP rod rubbing against the pulsation dampener

I have been having some idle/fuel problems with my car (1987 n/a s4) so I was playing around with the throttle and noticed the OMP rod was rubbing against the Pulsation Dampener So I bent the wire hanger/nut that secures the alternator to the engine to keep it from rubbing. But then I noticed instead of the rod rubbing when the car is idling it rubs when the throttle is open. So how do I adjust the OMP rod so that it doesn't rub against the Pulsation Dampener at all? I've searched and looked in the archives and couldn't find the info. Thanks

It should always sit above the PD. Here's an old picture that shows how it's bent.
