OMP Question.

I'm wondering what would happen if I converted to an S4 OMP from and S5? Other than the computer spitting out engine codes, would the car run ok? My S5 OMP failed, but I have an extra S4 TB laying around that I could swap out.

Thanks,

Mike

The car will go into limp mode without a working S5 OMP. You would need to switch to a S4 ECU, rewire all sorts of stuff under the dash, swap MAP/AFM, etc... to make the car run properly with a S4 OMP.

you'd need a s4 front cover to bolt the omp on. then adapt the linkage from the s4 TB to your s5 so the mechanical rod functions. then so it doesn't throw a code and runs happy you can get a 1.0 rtek chip from pocketlogger.com and make sure you adjust your TPS so all runs well.

to me it was too much work and swapping the front cover and getting everything to go smooth is a gamble. in the end I bought the rtek and ran premix. much simpler and I knew everything was fine in the end.

the best route (if when your omp failed it didn't fry that part of the ECU) is to get a used working pump in the for sale section.
