How high is your oil pressure?

If you're getting the code for the OMP then I would think it would be the OMP. Maybe if the pressure was high enough it would cause the OMP to fail?

It seems like the electronic OMPs are more prone to failure. There seem to be a few threads I've read lately on the subject.

Cheers

The OMP (oil metering pump) is not related to the main oil pump. If you're talking about a faulty OMP, then you can definitely still have high oil pressure. I'm not sure how familiar you are with the omp vs the oil pump.

OMP - squirts oil into the rotor chamber to lube the rotor housing

oil pump - pumps oil all around to engine and turbo

FYI: s4 cars have a manual omp system and s5 cars have a omp system controlled by the ecu.
