There are several good books that basically are a collection of the types of articles you're looking for. Here are the books I have:

Road & Track on Mazda RX-7 1978-1986 ISBN: 0-948207-87-7

Mazda RX-7 Gold Portfolio ISBN: 1-85520-333-2

Another nice book that I recently got from Amazon is:

RX-7 Mazda's Rotary Engine Sportscar by Brian Long ISBN: 1-901295-93-1

This is a hardcover history from a global perspective with many color photo's and ads from Japan, England, and Australia. For the $38 or so, it's a MUST have for any RX-7 enthusiast.

I also have copies of a few articles. Here are the dates, you may be able to find them at a larger library in the archives and get prints made:

Motor Trend February 1989: Mazda 3-Rotor RX-7 by Don Fuller pp. 122-124.

Autoweek August 11, 1986: Magnificant Seven by Bill Lovell pp.16-18 This is a FC that has a Cartech turbo added-- 0-60 in 4.7, 238rwhp claimed at 8psi.
