okay something WEIRD just happened. (ecu related)

alright where to start, i rebuilt my 13bt last year from my 87 everything went well, hit the occasional bump in the road. i ran it all last summer and everything ran well. at the end of summer i decided to swap the turbo drivetrain into a 88 vert. when i did this i put in a bigger turbo and so on. i used the whole drivetrain plus the turbo ecu, boost sensor, and engine harness. AFTER the swap i started having this stumble and it diddnt idle well at all it was running on one rotor accept when i reved it. long story short, it was the FPR. BUT it was still running with a bit of a rough vibration, and it was hitting a wall when it 3-3200 rpm. the ecu has the rtek 1.7, and ever since i put it in i started getting the hesitation. (i know about the glitch). so an NA ecu (the nc327 or something like that) it fixed the hesitation AND rough running. BUT i have a 550, 720 combo with an safc. i was told that it is dangerous to run the car without the rtek and that combo.

the Q- is it safe to run the s4 turbo vert with the s4 NA ecu? or should i try a REGULAR s4 turbo ecu

i have my mods listed. the car is not for sale at this time. will in the future, but the price is being raised becuase its runs ok, and its getting a new top and paint.(duh)

you should be running the new Rtek 1.7 with stumble elimination fix.

You need the turbo ECU because the non turbo ECU does not recognize boost and won't retard the timing when it should.

You should also use a turbo afm. That was not listed in your post. Although I've thought about that a bit, and it seems to me a non turbo afm in use would actually retard the timing more than a turbo afm would, because the vane would pull aft faster than the turbo afm will (weaker vane spring).

Just mumbling. You do need a turbo afm for things to work out.

The RTEK should have taken care of fuel cut, so I've no idea about the 3000 or so rpm bogg.

Seems using that combination of fuel injectors without the RTEK would make the car run pig rich, certainly not lean.

Yes, a turbo ECU is in order in my very humble opinion.

alrighty

yeah, i have the turbo afm on it right now. i drove it home 40 miles with the NA ecu. i just wanted to make sure i would run the risk of running it lean or anything.

so at the moment, the only ecu that i have for the car is the NA ecu, but im shipping out for the chip so i should be able to put it in the ecu as soon as i get it. it will be about a week.

are there any additional problems that i have to look out for by running the NA ecu for a week?

thanks in advance.

I'd just drive it in a normal fashion but stay out of heavy boosting.
