Were you opening or closing it and then it just stopped? Get out the Allen wrench and close it manually. Do you know how to do that, and do you have the wrench? Alternatively, if the roof was open and you turned off the car and then it wouldn't move after restarting the car, it may be a bad contact in the ignition switch. My car does this. The sunroof, wipers, and logicon all stop working until I wiggle the key back and forth with the engine running. I'll hear a relay click behind the dash, and then everything works fine.

no, don't know how to do it manually. it stopped while opening it up. usually i just have to help it because it is slow. now it is locked or something!!

after i get i closed. what is the best way to fix, or clean, or whatever to get it going good again. (the motor still comes on, but can't move)

get out of the car, push the close button, "help" the sunroof down by pushing it closed while the button is depressed.... worked for me

To the rear of the sunroof on the inside of the car there is a circle plug looking thing. Pull it out and use a wrench to close the sunroof. I cant remember what wrench it is, but Im thinking allen wrench. Just a guess. It's been a looooong time since ive been inside of my 7.

Yea, there is a circle plug in your headliner to the back of your roof. You have to use an allen wrench to turn it and that will manually close your sunroof. That is if you haven't jacked up one of the sunroof arms or something else in the sunroof track.

If that is the case you will have to remove the headliner secction on your sunroof, unbolt the roof skin from the sunroof arms, and then fix/replace, or break whatever is obstructing it from closing to close it.

One of my arms was busted, so I had to do this, I just fiddled with it a bit, and got it closed, the only real problem is that at high speeds it will start to flap open and what not, so since I hate sunroofs, I just zip-tied the bastard shut. I figured that was more cost effective and less hassle than changind the motor right now, and getting new sun roof are assemblys.

Remove the whole assembly and tear it all apart. Clean all the parts and replace the parts that need to be. Then grease up the tracks real good and put it all back together.

Can you see any parts that looked damaged or broke?

follow the advice that xtremeskier97 has given you, that is what my pal Jay did with his 10th AE. Yes, I despise sunroofs. I have a 00 Z24 as a daily driver, and I swear I have never once opened the thing, or even the headliner section to look out of it.

I think its mostly because the light distracts me. (I keep my gauge cluster turned down as far as it will go in the cavalier, and like the thrid position from last in the FC.) Heh, I also leave my CD player face at night down because it doesn't dim with the interior lighting.

Maybe I'm also under the impression that it messes with the car's structural integrity, even if it really doesn't. I have considered purchasing a base model, or other FC with no sunroof and swapping the entire drivetrain just to not have one. I guess I'm just **** about detail.
