Smoke when you start it?? Your motors on its death bed. Its either coolent seals or worn side/apex/oil seals. All of which need a rebuild. BTW these things can run for a long time smoken its just alitte anoying and embarassing. I'd go turbo,, but its going to cost a HELL of a lot more then $600.

The only way you're gonna swap for a tubo at $600, is if you just buy a T2 for that price.

From a person that has done a T2 into NA engine swap:

I would not consider the time, money, and effort to be worth it in a coupe.

white...or blue?

white smoke is coolant, blue smoke is oil.. It's a REALLY light blue, and almost looks like white..

Does it do it every time you start, or just after it sits for a while? Is your coolant level falling? Does it blow smoke when you drive or rev it? When the revs fall down? Any coolant in oil/oil in coolant?

Yeah does it stop somking or what. Alot of '7s smoke alittle on start up Mine did it, my friends do it. and the one I'm gonna get now does it. Not to long but just alittle. If it stops after a very short time it should be O.K.

Well....

It starts smoking alot.....and i mean ALOT..... after i rev it past 4000 rpm's.... but when i drive it for a while and i rev it over and over....it stops and it doesn't smoke....its more of a white smoke.....and it smells like oil........ it consumes alot of oil.......abouta quart a week! ...but all in all..... the thing i like about it is that i could drive behind someone i don't like and just smoke them with out going no where.....i could care less what they think of me or my car ....... well about going turbo for $600 the parts are all there..... a friend that is swapping his TII for a vett engine is going to give me his engine....... I saw his engine run... and i like....... he's going to give me everything from engine turbo trans. drive shaft sensors bla bla bla ....everything except powersteering... so parts is not a problem... its more of a problem to come up with the money and the will to do it........... but i don't know if i should..... they told me that its hard to swap from N/A SERIES 4 To TII SERIES 5.......... is that true???

I don't think you'll be able to get it smogged legally.
