Replaced the stock struts after 199000 miles!!!!

Today Adam and I pulled off my crappy shocks that were on when i got the car only to find that they were stock and never been replaced. (we long before concluded that the previous owner was a complete moron) so we took them out and tried put the crappy rented spring compressors on there..... took forever to get one of them off without the clamps sliding.

well we were putting the new springs on the new shocks and tried to put the bolt from the old shock on the new one.... it didnt fit and we stripped the top. lost one of the bolts for the new shocks so had to get the other one.

long story short, my left rear is a little higher than the right. but at least we got the really crappy shock off.

I just cant believe they have been on there for alomst 200,000 miles. I pushed the rod down into the old shock and it never came out again

just thought id share

Justin

So you only changed one shock? You could have at least done two. But 200k out of a stock shock is unbelievable. I got 150k out of a stock unit on my 626 and it had all it could take.
