MO Ok ok this is the FINAL answer on S5 OMP position sensor Readings!!!

Well, actually I don't have the answer but maybe somebody does. I have searched not just this site, but the entire web for this answer.

What are the readings supposed to be for the S5 Electric OMP position sensor?

I founrd a great thread about testing the OMP beyond the FSM. I did that and everything tested great on the OMP. I am getting Code 20. This is the OMP position sensor reading. I have 3 OMP's that I tested and they came up with the following results

VC-E2 VO-E2 VO-VC Total (VO-E2)+(VO-VC)
Pump 1: 1.51 .921 1.871 2.792
Pump 2: 1.392 .598 1.800 2.398
Pump 3: 1.524 .784 1.621 2.405

Max Value of VC-E2 according to FSM is 2
Max Value of (VO-E2)+(VO-VC) according to FSM is 2

From what I have read in these posts (what few I could find) is that many people's values for the total is more than 2. Is it possible for me to have 3 bad MOP position sensors? I don't think so. I have checked the harness...everything OK.

No the answer is NOT pre-mix. Does anyone have any readings that they care to share off of thier position sensors so that we can come to some sort of consensus on wheter the FSM is a misprint or if the values of a good working omp position sensor is less than 2 for the total? IN the history of this site, it seems that there have not been any solid answers to this question.

INPUT??????????

Someone??? Come on guys, there has to be an answer here. Can someone run a quick test on a known working OMP Position sensor? It would not take long.

So you went through all of the steps in the FSM for checking the OMP I assume. I looked at the FSM and it says code 20 could be caused by "open or short circuit in position sensor wiring, open or short circuit between ECU and position sensor, loose connection of position sensor or ECU. To me it sounds more plausable than something like a loose connection would be your problem rather than 3 omp's, but you never know. Maybe Hailers will chime in.

the way the thing works is the ecu outputs a signal to the stepper motor, and then has a position sensor to make sure the pump moved where it was supposed to.

its exactly like a drive by wire throttle body.

but if the manual says open or short, that really should be what you're looking for first...
